Lock braces
The most common braces are the locking braces (brackets). Metal brackets/ transparent brackets are glued to the teeth. A metal or transparent wire is placed through the brackets. The orthodontist determines the thickness of the wire for each check-up. Rubber bands are placed to ensure that the wire sits tightly between the clasps. You may choose the colour of the rubber bands. The wire and rubber bands will cause the teeth to shift little by little until your teeth are in the desired position. You will come for check-ups every month so that the orthodontic dentist can properly monitor the progress of the treatment.
